As I have often said, calories are not a diktat, but diets that often boast of being calorie-free lack an essential macronutrient, for example, they are carbohydrate-free protein diets.

The trick is to push you to eat less by removing carbohydrates or fat. Avoid them in the same way as strictly low-calorie diets.
